Some people have a problem with the preaching of grace, whats the alternative?

(Grace: unmerited and undeserved favor)

(Opposite of grace: merited and deserved favor)

How can anyone with a strait face say they deserve God’s provision of favor and eternal life based on merrited favor they deserve. It’s clear you can’t stand on your performance. Then it’s easy to see that Unmerrited and undeserved favor purchased by Christ’s perfect performance is the only firm foundation. Since it can not be merited by you it can only become yours by faith in another.

Jesus performance on your behalf and not your performance is the only place to stand. This alone is firm ground. This is the garden to grow roots in.

By works of the law shall no flesh be justified

(see http://bible.cc/romans/3-20.htm)

The power of sin is the law.

(see http://bible.cc/1_corinthians/15-56.htm)

Where there is Grace undeserved and unmerited favor there is no power in sin.

There is no place for Sin to stand when you remove your performance and substitute Christs performance. Jesus is our substitute! What a message!

The bible calls the law the ministry of death.

(see http://bible.cc/2_corinthians/3-7.htm)

Then it follows Grace (undeserved and unmerited favor) is the ministry of LIFE.

Is your religion ministering life to you? When grace gets mixed in with law the power of sin dilutes the power of life.

The law implies works. It has to be 100% grace or 100% law. You can’t mix the two.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
